Our Polish media contact Tomek Hoppe checks in with a brief update from Stage 3 of the Sudety Challenge:
The fourth day of Sudety MTB Challenge race was a competition on the route between Stronie Śląskie and Złoty Stok. The long and technical singletrack at the Polish/Czech border was the most interesting part of todays stage.
The weather was good in the morning. Many of riders were resting before the start at the park.
After the relax was time for some action! Tomas Vokrouhlik (CZE, BMC Savo Racing Team) and Jason Sager (USA, Jamis Factory Team) had started with a strong pace. They quickly went away and competed among themselves. On the technical singletracks BMC rider was faster than Jason Sager. At the checkpoint he had the advantage of two minutes. On the finish line Jason Sager was two minutes behind the Czech. Werner Sonke (GER, World of Mountain Bike) took third place.
Todays best team were the Swiss from Dani’s Bike Team/RMC Appenzell. Two minutes behind them finished Danish DMK / MCV Team. Third place for Sebastian and Sylwester Swat (POL, Swat Team) The fastest MIX team was MTBO Team Denmark. Among woman, another victory for Catherine Williamson (RSA).
