XXC is dedicated to the sport of endurance mountain bike racing, epic rides, and multi-day adventures in the dirt. We don’t do reviews in the print/eMag (anymore), or tech tips. What we do is try to produce a magazine that focusses on the beauty, pain, and emotion of endurance mountain bike racing and riding with words and photos submitted from riders around the world. Riders like you!

What to submit?

The editorial focus of XXC is endurance mountain bike racing, ultra cross, gravel events, bikepacking, multi-day adventures and epic rides. If the tires hit dirt for more than 3 hours we’re likely interested.

How to submit:

E mail a brief query to xxcmag@gmail.com for review. I will try to get back to you as soon as I can, but please remember, XXC has a staff of one, so sometimes it can take a while.

Payment?

Yep, there’s payment but it’s probably not going to pay your bills or anything. For the most part payment is T shirts, shwag, and a print copy of the mag. Starting with issue #13 we will be offering writers 4¢ per word for feature stories when possible. If for some reason the budget is not there, I will let you know up front. Some hardcore freelancers may be insulted by these rates, but then again some folks may be stoked to have some extra beer money, or cash to help pay for some racing.*

Photographs:

A good article can be made great with killer photos and I love ‘em! I am happy to compensate photographers for their skills. Again, the XXC piggy bank isn’t that huge, so sometimes I can buy and sometimes I have to pass. But am happy to negotiate if needed. Please do not send  any big giant high rez files for review. A link to a gallery or website is preferred.

xxcmag.com:

XXC is always happy to have articles and coverage for xxcmag.com. There is no payment for online articles and coverage.
